What Should Be in Your College Essay Topic?When students are writing a college essay or a thesis, it's easy to get caught up in the details of their subject matter and forget about defining X. One thing to consider is whether or not the topic is a product of the student's creative thinking. Are they brainstorming all day? If so, they should get involved in the assignment or paper writing process.When you're starting to plan a college paper, you need to figure out how the student's creative process is affected by the specific topic. For example, a science student may not use his or her imagination in math. So you would have to write the assignment or paper addressing this point. The same idea applies for English.As a student starts to think about the topic of the college essay topic, you should begin to get a feel for what the student does well. Once you have a good idea of that, you can start to build out a unique essay. The ability to imagine, not just think, is one of the best abilities of any stude nt has. The ability to articulate their own ideas and suggestions is another.It's a good idea to show how your specific subject matter relates to your ability to think and communicate. For example, if you're writing about nature, you might show how the setting or environment makes a difference in how you view the world. A biochemistry student might be a better candidate for writing about scientific developments. While most students don't need a science background, the ability to communicate this can be useful in the future.Of course, you'll also want to show the students that you have the ability to communicate about the topic of the college essay topic. If they know that you're capable of creating a creative problem-solving approach, they'll be better equipped to see where your topic would fit in your own mind.
