Both The ground forces and lacquer have different procedures and sequences in their construction procedures and therefore this can influence the roles and responsibilities of the project manager.Construction In lacquerIn Japan it is very customary for a client to seek a design from a building contractor, as opposed to the UK where an architect would be appointed in the first instance and a contractor at a later date. This method has both positive and negative points that are worth mentioning. As we know here in the UK, from taking an integrated approach to the supply image as described in BRE Digest 450, partnership can be a very efficient method of project procurement as the contractor has a say in the practicality of design etc at the beginning. This in theory is no different in Japan except the process is carried out by the majority, rather than the minority here in the UK. As the design is contractor designed, it is very practical usi ng standardised components or modular construction which gives the contractor an extremely buildable project. Generally cod to the practicality and normalization of this method, many of the buildings appear to be very similar lacking agreeable intricate details and finesse. Although in the opinion of many the designs are unexciting, this design and build method sets parameters of the clients need, quality, budget and timescale. This therefore enables the chosen contractor to design a building with the intention to ensuring that it can be built to the clients desired quality, on time and on budget. Design and build is widely utilize in the UK but with the lack of standardisation and a simplistic approach to design, cost and time over runs are always inevitable. Japan broadly speaking is a quality compulsive nation and the construction industry within Japan is no different. The contractor market is controlled by the big sixer, six major construction firms which share long term r elationships with their clients, suppliers, specialist contractors, general contractors and sub contractors. The Japanese construction industry is extremely efficient and the construction industry operates with stealth, precision and control of a ninja.Constructing Excellence reported after two trips to Japan having visited five of the big six construction firms that Japan gets a score of 100% for productivity, compared with 50% for the UK. Japan is renowned for its subtile health and safety records and their attitudes to health and safety is pragmatic , it is not a requirement to wear steel toe capped boots when working on a construction site in Japan due the slight organisation of the project. On the typical Japanese building site theres scantily any debris, so there is little chance of dropping anything on your feet. This have the appearance _or_ semblances insane but the figures speak for themselves as 92% of projects in Japan achieve a zero-accident rate, compared with 62% of UK schemes. The contrasts between UK and Japan are large and this can be reinforced further by their training, morning app elevate and pre-exercise warm up. It is a requirement for staff to train for a full year before operating on site and there is a briefing at the beginning of each day where the project manager discusses the days tasks and goals.Project Management In JapanHaving researched the topic of construction in Japan, it is plain to see that the roles and responsibilities of the project manager will differ greatly when compared to those in the UK. In the UK project managers have to deal with a number of individuals in the project team, there may be issues of conflict between the contractor and the architect along with confusion and anger towards cost and timescale of any changes, which can make the project managers job difficult, as it is his obligation to ensure that work is done on time, on budget and as per the clients requirements. In Japan things are a little d ifferent, the designers and the constructors are all part of the same organisation so conflict is unlikely and so is change. The contractor has priced, designed and scheduled the job based purely on the clients needs. The clients need is unlikely to change but should it change the contractor may file for extension to time, additional costs etc which makes this option very unlikely. all in all this makes the project managers life a lot easier and with less time spent on conflict resolution it gives him more time to concentrate on leading, organising, integrating, delegating, communicating and motivating. The project managers role is further alter due to having less four-year-old incompetent or inexperienced site workers. Less time is spent repeating himself, as the site workers of Japan have had one years training before starting work on site, therefore are much more competent than the young site workers of the UK who walk on site with little training and experience. Levels of offs ite construction and prefabrication is very high and in general due to less erection on site, the project manager should have less complications to deal with and can focus on erecting the prefabricated panels once delivered to site. It is also worth noting that if there are any problems with the prefabricated units if the suppliers fault, for example wrong dimensions, there is no stress of having to re-erect a panel onsite and wait days for it, instead all that is required is to phone the supplier and they have the stress of rushing out a replacement.Construction Project Management In The United States of AmericaIn the the States, the construction process differs dramatically from both the UK and Japan and subsequently the role of the project manager differs too. The client or developer is generally producing high rise buildings, not for occupation but as a financial investment. It is their role produce these large scale buildings at lightning speeds with as low a cost as possible . As a lot of clients are developers with excellent knowledge of the industry, they take the leading role. The architects main role in the project is purely to come up with an outline proposal to meet the clients requirements of appearance, layout and budget. It is not the role of the architect to produce working drawings or detailed design, this is the role of the project engineer. The engineer takes the design and develops it with regard to construction services. In the the States specialist contractors are use to design their own components and install them themselves which ensures there is no conflict which might have been encountered with the main contractor lay an unfamiliar product. Similarly to Japan, a lot of prefabrication is used with the design of a building, for example standardised computer generated components which can be easily be duplicated and altered if necessary rather than drawing everything from scratch. Due to this standardised system full construction draw ings can be produced very quickly and there is more certainty of project costing and timescale. Coordination of the project initially is the accountability of the client. The design stages are organised by the engineer and sometimes the architect. The project manager or construction manager as they are referred to in the USA is responsible for organising the specialist contractors work.It is the developers responsibility to monitor the feasibility of the project, specially the architects design and the cost estimates. It is up to the client to ensure that they are sensible of any planning authorities as they are responsible for ensuring the legalities of the project.Architects it would seem have a small role to play in the US construction process however it is their role to provide advice on estimated term of a contract value of the property, cost of the build and taxation. It is also the architects role to assess the success of the project based on the above. This reduces the re sponsibilities of the project manager at the archeozoic stages as in the UK it is generally the role of the project manager to provide advice on rental value, rough cost, taxation etc.Similarly to the UK, the construction manager as cognize in the USA is employed to provide advice and coordinate the construction phase. There are two methods of management used from here. The Project manager could be paid a fee for his services and also be paid for employing the specialist contractors whom he has to pay, this method is known as management contracting. The other option is that the client employs the specialists and pays them direct and the construction manager gets paid for managing the project, this is called construction management. In theory it makes no difference to the workload of the construction manager as either way it is his responsibility to ensure that the specialists know what they are required to do. Although an onerous task, it is not any more complex than a large proje ct in the UK. This is due to the fact that the specialist contractors are in theory more than reasonable contractors, they are designers installing their own specialist products and in turn are responsible for their own work under supervision of the construction manager. Although in the UK the project manager is responsible for the key decisions in the project, in the USA the construction manager delegates these decisions where appropriate to the specialist contractors. The USA is highly driven on completing projects on time and specialists will not waffle to bring in hired work if necessary which provides an additional requirement for the construction manager to be flexible and coordinate the project contributors. In the USA there is little pre-construction input from a project management point of view and the main role and responsibility is to make sure everyone is one hundred percent sure of what they are to be doing and when it is to be completed. It would appear that the USA g et the best out of their specialists with the fierce opposition and by the way in which they approach a project and are managed.ConclusionHaving researched project management generally, it is evident in my opinion that there is a great benefit in having a project manager on board in a construction project. However having also researched in more detail the ins and outs of project management in the USA Japan, and comparing it to practice in the UK, it is evident that the differing construction processes in each country dramatically affect the role and responsibilities of the project manager. The benefits of a project manager are endless and in my opinion, the whole scope of the project managers work is all a benefit to both the client and the contractor even though he is solely representing the client. The project manager is the put man between the client and the rest of the project contributors. It is a benefit to the client as complex decisions are required when managing a constr uction site and knowing the lingo is extremely important. Unfortunately it would seem that in the UK the clients are not overly experienced with construction therefore its vital that they employ someone who can translate the terms into English and let off the pros and cons, for example, pros and cons of different options available. This role may be possible to be fulfilled by an architect however the main difference between an architect and a project manager is the project manager spends most of his time on construction sites and has greater experience in project programming, cost implications and construction techniques. The project manager is a benefit to the contractor as with his expertise, solutions to construction issues can be discussed and his advice may be beneficial for speed, cost or even just general ideas.Ultimately it is evident that custom and practice in different countries does affect the role and responsibilities of the project manager. It is significant for a in experienced client to have a professional such as a project manager from the beginning of the project if the client wants the project to be finished to his desired quality, on time and on budget.

Ways Children Looked After By Local Authority Social Work Essay

CA, 1989 s46(1) gives the police power, without going to hail, to remove or detain tiddlerren for 72 hours if they h ave reasonable cause to believe that the children are likely to nourish earthshaking misemploy (Brammer, 2010 Powell, 2001).Social Service Managers generate love the value of s46 as an emergency intervention but have criticised its inordinate use as a result of police anxiety (Masson, 2001). The article of belief is that hooks should make a decision to remove children wherever possible therefore, s46 is to be used in exceptional circumstances. The topical anaesthetic imprimatur should have in place with the Clerks to the Justices an out of hours Emergency Protection set up (EPO) application offshoot (HO Circular, 2008).Emergency Protection OrderEPO is a short- call emergency measure, tenacious up to 8 days with a possible extension of a further 7 days, whilst the topical anesthetic authority under CA, 1989 s47 investigates the childrens upbeat. S44(1) of the scrap outlines the cause for applications for an EPO of which there are two forms ( all person and likely to suffer significant harm). The local anaesthetic authoritys application for Shona and her siblings is on the grounds that they are likely to suffer significant harm due to domestic craze. Although the court whitethorn harmonize that there are grounds for an EPO, it still affects to apply the dominions contained in Part 1 of the act.Principles governing the decision- doWelfare PrincipleCA, 1989 s1 states that, the childs well-being shall be the courts paramount reflexion. The meaning of s1 has been closely examined and criticised due to its wide range of interpretations (Brammer, 2010 Brayne and Carr, 2010). Decisions base on the welfare of the child are ultimately value judgements (Ryan, 1998 8) Therefore, a checklist was added to maintain consistency and provide clear understanding (Ryan, 1998 and Brammer, 2010). For an EPO the court moldiness consider the welfare principle but it does non have to consider the checklist (Brayne and Carr, 2010).Non-Delay PrincipleCA, 1989 s1 (2), supported by European Court of Human Rights oblige 6(1), tensenesses that all delay in court proceedings is potentialityly prejudicious to the welfare of the child (Brayne and Carr, 2010), therefore, the court needs to have regard to the non-delay principle. The usual Law Outline (PLO), 2008 attempted to address case management and suspend delays in court proceedings by setting a timetable. Masson argues that enact against delay did not change working practices adult parties retain to get to advantageous delay (2010 55).No-order PrincipleCA, 1989 s1(5) directs courts to make no order, even if the harm threshold condition is satisfied, unless it considers that qualification an order would be better for the child than qualification no order at all (known as the no-order principle). The principle sleep togethers the need for proportionality with triple foundational aims 1) discourage unnecessary court orders, 2) to experience that the order is granted only where it i s likely positively to improve the childs welfare and 3) discourage the making of unnecessary applications (DCSF, 2008 7).If political sympathies guidance discourages unnecessary applications, this may account for inquiry findings showing a general misunderstanding of this principle amongst local authorities who interpret it to mean that cases should not be taken to court unless it is totally necessary. The recent increase in court applications may demonstrate that the principle is not continueing Social Workers from carrying out their duties (DCSF, 2008 Brayne and Carr, 2010). The majority of court proceedings have resulted in orders being granted, therefore Mason argues, neither the public nor the courts themselves have accepted the no order principle (2010, 57).Areas Needing to be looked atThreshold QuestionAs Shona has been in maintenance for some lead years, the local authority would have applied for a court order. This cannot be obtained without meeting the threshold cr iteria of CA, 1989 s31 identifying significant harm, cause for the harm and no order principle (Ryan, 1998 DOH, 1999). Significant harm has to be found to embody before the court will intervene in family life, however, as the term is not defined it causes considerable problems of interpretation. The Ad excerpt and Children Act, 2002 s120 broadened harm to include witnessing or hearing it, which would be relevant in the case of Shona (Brammer, 2010).AssessmentThe children would be assessed under the child protection structure due to the physical offense Liam endured and his sisters witnessed. This structure has evolved by a series of reports and government circulars. In 2008, the Children Act Guidance Volume One was revised and issued under s7 of the Local Authority Social Service Act, 1970 which provided clarity for what should be completed before making an order application (Brayne and Carr, 2010). Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2010 provides interagency guidance on est imate and investigation. The Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and Their Families, 2000 provided, under genius structured system, a holistic assessment and figurening tool for all children in need (Thomas, 2005 83).Using the framework, the local authority, through the core assessment process, will need to consider both the childrens and parents needs along with those in the wider family and community, to reach a decision that an order is necessary to safeguard their welfare. The local authority would also need to seek legal advice and communicate to the parents their concerns (DCSF, 2008). worry PlanACA, 2002 revise s31 of the CA, 1989 so that an order cannot be made until the court has considered a care plan (Brammer, 2010). A separate plan would be required for Shona, Liam and Siobhan so the court can consider their soul needs. The plans should be based on findings from the initial and core assessments with the structure, as guided by Local Authority Circular 99 (29), 1999, being 1) overall aim, 2) childs needs, 3) views of others, 4) detail on placement and 5) local authority management. The courts decision on the no-order principle will take into account the care plan for verification as to how the order would be applied (DOH, 2000).What Orders May Have Been NecessaryCare OrderIn having met the threshold criteria, completed assessment and care plan the local authority under s31 would apply for a care order for the children. A care order, rather than a supervision order, involves the children being removed from their root word and provides the local authority with shared parental responsibility for the children alongside the parents (Brayne and Carr, 2010).Reviews by Local AuthorityUpon granting an order, the court has no influence in the plan being carried out (Brammer, 2010). ACA, 2002 amended s25(a) CA, 1989 by requiring an Independent Review military officer (IRO) to be appointed to chair all review meetings of looked after children, verify the child is involved in the review and will challenge short(p) practice, and any drift in implementing the Care Plan (HMG, 2003 45). If the plan is not implemented the IRO can pass the case to CAFCASS who can now return key it to court (Brammer, 2010).CA, 1989 s26 makes it a legal want for local authorities to on a regular basis review the childrens care plans. Reviews ensure that it plan is being effectively implemented and to make any changes that have become necessary (Thomas, 2005 76). All involved in the care of the children, including the child, should be involved in the review. The minimum exigencys which reflect the no-delay principle, are set out in the Review of Childrens Cases Regulations 1991, amended in 2004. The first review should be held within four weeks of the children becoming looked after, followed by a further review at three months later and then six monthly (Brammer, 2010 Ryan, 1998).Relevance of s17 to case studyViews of Parents on a lower floo r s17 of CA, 1989, the local authority has a general duty to promote the upbringing of children in need by their families and with article 8 of the Human Rights Act, 1989 they would need to justify any interference in family life. Working Together, 2010 re-emphasized the commitment of partnership with parents in making plans for the welfare and protection of their children. There are a number of slipway the local authority can work in partnership with Shonas parents through consultation, taking into comity their views, attendance at case conferences and being notified of any public proceedings (Brayne and Carr, 2010).CA 1989, s17 also makes clear that the first priority is to promote and safeguard the childrens welfare and then try to keep them within their family (Brayne and Carr, 2010). Provided that the welfare and safety of the children is paramount then potentially there should be no conflict between the principles of family support and child protection (Parton, 1997). Howeve r, research has shown that full partnership is difficult to reach when risks are high and families resist with the perceived risks (Bell, 1999). The recent case of Baby Peter has highlighted the importance of Shonas Social Worker having the skill to recognize when partnership with the parents is failing to protect them (Brayne and Carr, 2010). The fathers violence towards the children could be a reason to exclude him from any conferences but his wishes can be obtained by other means (DCSF, 2010). It is also important to recognise that the childrens views and wishes may be different to their parents.Childs wishesThe Children Act, 2004 s53 amended s17 of CA, 1989 making it a requirement that before deciding what suffices should be provided the childrens wishes should be obtained and given consideration (DCSF, 2010). CA, 1989 s22 by mentioning the child before the parents suggests that the childs wishes are to be the first consideration (Brayne and Carr, 2010).The law has also been c riticised for assuming that it is possible to know objectively what is in a childs best interest but instead should give the children themselves a role in determining what happens (Thomas, 2005). However, the emphasis of listening to the childs wishes has recently been criticised as it undermines the courts authority to make a best interest decision (Times, 2010). Laws, policies and procedures continue to reflect he tension between these twin goals of safeguarding children and advocating their rights (Adams, 2009 304). To ensure that the childs interests, wishes and rights are upheld in court, CA, 1989 s41(1) contains the duty, if required, for a Childrens Guardian to be appointed from CAFCASS (Brayne and Carr, 2010).Placement flesh outThe local authority whilst taking into consideration the views of the children and parents, will have regards for s17 when considering placements for the children. The CA, 1989 s44(a) was amended by the Family Law Act, 1996 giving power to include ex clusion requirement in emergency protection order. This could have been an option looked at in the case of Shona with the father being excluded from the family home (Brayne and Carr, 2010). Consideration of family members and friends as potential carers for Shona and her siblings should be explored and clearly demonstrated in their care plans before making a court order application (DCSF, 2008). S23(7) CA, 1989 promotes contact between parents and children with local authority, as is reasonably practicable, providing accommodation near to the family home and keeping siblings together. Under schedule 2 of CA, 1989 there are powers given to the local authority to assist in maintaining links between children and their family (Brayne and Carr, 2010).Options Available to each childFamily Group ConferenceThere are several methods for compiling the childrens care plans, with one much(prenominal) option being Family Group Conference (FGC) (Thomas, 2005). FGC has been set forth as a, reali stic methods for merging the needs and interests of children and families and the protection concerns of public child welfare agencies, the courts, and the community (Chandler and Giovannucci, 2004 217). Although there is no factual data, reviews of FGCs have implied that it is not a suitable option for domestic violence cases due to the welfare of the child. However, in the case of Shona, FGC may have been a viable option when initially becoming children cared for to help explore the welfare concerns, deciding what services are necessary and to take into consideration the children and parents views when considering permanency so to prevent the children becoming entrenched in the care system (Chandler and Giovannucci, 2004).AccommodationThe local authority has a power under s20 CA, 1989 to provide accommodation to the three children (Ryan, 1998). From initially coming into care (the sisters going to foster care and Liam to residential care) up until their current situation (Shona an d Siobhan different wishes to return home) decisions on the grooming of accommodation have been paramount with the options to be explored being kinship, foster care, residential, reunification, bridal and independence. ACA, 2002 provides guidance on the timescales for decisions about adoption with permanence, including adoption, needing to be considered at the sulfur care plan review (Brayne and Carr, 2010 378).Education / CrimeDue to the exceedingly publicised statistics of children in cares educational underachievement, crime rates and employability, the recent government has made a number of changes to legislation. Under s20 of the Children and Young Persons Act, 2008 all three children will have (had) a designated member of staff at their educate responsibility for promoting the educational achievement. The local authority under s22 should provide for under 25 year olds assistance to pursue education or breeding which is relevant to Liam and Shonas current situation (Bramm er, 2010 356). Although the agenda for change is not without criticism, Its insurance recommendations are framed within a friendly investment onset which values education as the route out of exclusion and into employability (Williams, 2004 423). schedule 2(7) of CA, 1989 puts an onus on the local authority to take reasonable step designed to reduce the need to bring criminal proceedings against such children (Brammer, 2010 369). Therefore the Youth Offending Team (YOT) could be a service considered for Liam. Adams argues that the number of detained children is high in the UK with, policy and practice regarding children and young large number who have committed offences remain stubbornly resistant to welfare principles (2009 318). ratified RequirementsIn 2003 the government published Every Child Matters (ECM) which introduced five outcomes for service providers to make arrangements to improve the well being of children being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and economic wellbeing (20036-7). CA, 2004 was passed to provide a statutory framework for applying ECM with the five outcomes included in s10(2) of the act (Brayne and Carr, 2010). The act also introduced the requirement for working together of statutory departments and other relevant bodies for achieving the five outcomes (Brammer, 2010). In theory this provides Shona, Liam and Siobham with greater opportunity for services from public, tete-a-tete and voluntary sectors, however, this legislative change did not come with an increase in budget (Williams, 2004). The responsibility of the local authority to provide services to the children is defined in schedule 2 of CA, 1989. The wording is moderated for example reasonable go or consider appropriate, therefore the local authority can range services based on what is available rather than having to meet every(prenominal) need (Brammer, 2010). When more than one agency is involved in the childrens care a lead professional will be appointed to be responsible for ensuring a coherent package of services to meet the individual childs needs (HMG, 2003 9).ConclusionIn the situation of Shona and her family, this assignment has highlighted the current social and political thinking towards safeguarding children with the balance in the CA, 1989 between welfare and childrens wishes the emphasis on partnership with parents the importance of accountability through reviews and the value move on children remaining with their families. The five outcomes for children in care provide a framework for the provision of services, however, the limitation in budgets does not support the political agenda.

Strategy and Creativity of Halo Coffee London

St locategy and creativeness of ring Coffee LondonSTUDENT NAME PHAMGIA HUY TRAN1.1 Threat of Substitutes steepCurrentAlthough deep brown market is a growing rapidly, tea continues to be the leader of the hot swallow products. There argon other beverages which argon used, function exposeed and supported by many people instead of umber berry tree such as fruit juices, water, soda, energy beverages etc.Consumers do non develop to pay any cost when they switch from umber to substitutes, which may ontogenesis the threat.FutureSince burnt umber noggin and hot chocolate bean atomic number 18 the barely products of pack, their fair game customer market is really unsexed. Nowadays people generate more(prenominal) choices of their beverage, peculiar(a)ly the hot one akin tea or milk, which are much healthier than coffee. In the research of the share of hot beverages consumed roughly often by individuals in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2015, enjoin has showed tha t 44 percent drink tea most often, followed by 21 percent who drink instant coffee (Statista, 2015).1.2 Intensity of Competitive tilt High CurrentThe attention has a monopolistic controversy and Nestl separate is imposing the largest market share especially by their two brands Nespresso and Nescaf. different competitors also befuddle a remark fit markets share.Consumers do not cave in to pay any cost for switching to other brands, which names high rate in rivalry.Because the industry is acquire with low growth rate, there is the sure retaliation from well companies against each others for brand equity, resources, important locations and price competition out-of-pocket to all of them looking for increasing their market share from constituted firms.FutureSince B2B is the maily place market of aureole, their market is too narrow and it is affirmable to lost their market share easily to others brands which are more usual. Nespresso and Nescaf concur been enormousning the market share to B2B market. According to Nestl Nespresso S.A (2016), Nespresso has formed partnerships with prestigious culinary organizations and chefs somewhat the world to interact and share viewpoints with key players in the industry such as Served by over 780 star-rated chefs or equivalent, served by 15 major airlines including Cathay Pacific Airways, Qatar Airways and Emirates Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Etihad Airways. glorification is now facing the threat of losing their byplay partners to bigger brands homogeneous Nespresso.1.3 encumbrance in tryingCurrentPurchasing coffee is not a straight forward process and often purchasing direct from a grower raise create problems further down the supply chain. This gouge be a serious problem because glorification cannot hold a stable coffee resource with high requirements from the local famers and growers.Future modality change- Less suited land for coffee Droughts in a commodious period of metre, step- upd temperatures and heavy rains are the main factors that even off draw seasons suddenly change without any reason and therefore not able to be predicted. It is estimated that the areas suitable for coffee cultivation will decrease advantageously by 2020 (CBI, 2016). The underlying drastic changes in the suitability of land for coffee production are having adverse erects (Coffee Barometer, 2014). This will effect highly and in a flash to the resources of glory from their suppliers.2.1 Assumptions and assumption reversalAssumptions about mob band sells all coffee and coffee beansHalo has 2 ranges of products available only online Halo touch sensation and Halo Speciality and target customers B2B, home-coffee drinkers.Halos suppliers are from in the south AmericaReverse each assumptionsHalo has other productsHalo coffee products are various and s experient in coffee shops or retailers, customers are diversifiedHalo supplies itselfHow to accomplish those reversalsHalo has oth er productsAccording to the place issues mentioned above, people now have a huge number of choices for their beverage. It is spacious for Halo to produce and develop other kind of drinks than coffee such as cheeselike drinks or energy drinks, especially tea due to the druthers of consumers. Nespresso and Nescaf are just two of different brands from Nestle beside others drink brands like Milo, Nestea and Nesquik. With this strategy, Halo can get benefits from the non-coffee drinkers, which is a very wide and profitable market. However, this is also a mature market with big brands dominating like Pepsi, Coca-cola, Monster, Red bull. If Halo decides to be a bran-new deviateer into a new market with different products than coffee, Halo need to start over again from the market research as well as marketing research. This is not recommendable for Halo to spend their resource into a mature market like soft drinks because Halo is still facing difficulties in remaining and increasing their own coffee market share.Halo coffee products are various and s older in coffee shops or retailersCurrently, Halo has served only their coffee with 2 ranges of products available only online Halo touching and Halo Speciality. This may creates a limit of choice for customers who want to enjoy a new taste or their personal one. Instead of providing only 2 ranges of products which are Halo Signature and Halo Speciality, Halo should create more different tastes of coffee, or especially let the customers use up and mingle the ingredients to create their own personal taste. This special dish up will crop Halo unique and will make full a number of customers who do not like the 2 old ranges of products in the past. To make this service achievable, Halo should open their coffee shops gyves or retailers because this will make Halo more accessible to everybody than the online business way. Customers will find it more convenient and interested to create and have a cup of coffee wit h their personal taste rather than the old online way. About the old online way, Halo should develop their website to make it more attractive and home-coffee drinkers can also choose and mix the ingredients to create and order coffee as well. This option is highly suggested because it not only understands the limit of target customers, but also makes Halo become famous for the special service. To follow this way, Halo ineluctably to guide out more research and test to produce new coffee products or new ingredients so that customers will have a mannequin of choices.Halo supplies itselfAlthough the bargaining power of the suppliers has been limited, Halo cannot tell the negative effect from climate changes on the crops as well as the resource. It is predictable that the areas suitable for coffee cultivation will decrease substantially by 2020 (CBI, 2016). In order to have a stable resources, Halo can supply itself by creating an area in the UK that have a same pin down to confe deration America to grow coffee beans. By modern font technology, it is possible to build a technical farm with modern equipments can make the same weather conditions and import the soil from South America. In addition, Halo can apply some technique skills in growing coffee beans to make sure that they can harvest coffee beans all around the years. This option prevents Halo from the risks of supplies from South America, which is too far and cannot be control well, provides a stable resource for Halo to sell 12 months a year. However, it will cost a lot of money to set up a modern farm like this and it will usually steer 4-5 years for a coffee tree to start producing coffee which is a long time. This option is not recommendable because it costs a lot of time and money and it is not suitable for a small company like Halo for now.2.2 SCAMPER Substituteo To compete with other beverage brands, Halo can develop more different types of products like tea, soft drinks, mineral water, which are all substitutes. However, these products are in mature markets so it will be hard for a new entrant like Halo to have market share. Halo can choose and egress coffee beans from suppliers in closer areas instead of South America to tailor the shipping cost, but the quality of coffee beans may be reduced as well because the soil and the weather in closer areas are not the best to grow coffee. It is possible to build a modern farm in the UK with the same climate and soil condition to South America to grow, harvest and supply for itself, but it will cost Halo a huge number of money and time to carry out this plan. Combineo Halo should run the business both online and offline as the same time. Opening coffee shops chains to introduce product directly will serve up Halo become more recognizable and increase image of the company. Doing just-in-time system service, especially online to reduce flow generation inside production system as well as response times from suppliers and to cu stomers. Making more ranges of coffee to give more choices to the customers, or providing them a special service that let customers create their personal coffee taste. This can increase Halos brand and the company will be more popular to everyone. It will take time and money to carry out researches for new coffee or ingredients. Adapto To reduce the threats from substitutes and rivalry, Halo needs to diversify their coffee products to attract more customers and key partnerships. This will help Halo to gain market share and compete with other competitors. When this burn nowadays is taking care of the environment, Halo should take advantage of their perishable capsules, which is one of their strength to increase the companys image. Modifyo Halo should develop the ranges of coffee products to be more accessible because customer will have more choices than the 2 old ranges. Halo should increase the use of the biodegradable capsules to gain comfortably impression from the society. Pu t to another useo Halo can benefit from the used coffee beans by change the coffee grounds to some organizations that take care about smasher to produce cosmetic or sell coffee grounds to farmers because it is good for the soil. This can save a lot of money for Halo as well as recycle the coffee grounds to protect the environment. root outo Halo is lack of target customers as well as diversification of product ranges, so they need to improve more things, not eliminate. Reverseo Currently, Halo has 2 ranges of products available only online Halo Signature and Halo Speciality and target customers B2B, home-coffee drinkers. This may creates a limit of choice for customers who want to enjoy a new taste or their personal one. Instead of providing only 2 ranges of products which are Halo Signature and Halo Speciality, Halo should create more different tastes of coffee, or especially let the customers choose and mix the ingredients to create their own personal taste. This special servic e will make Halo unique and will satisfy a number of customers who do not like the 2 old ranges of products in the past. To make this service possible, Halo should open their coffee shops chains or retailers because this will make Halo more accessible to everybody than the online business way. Customers will find it more convenient and interested to create and have a cup of coffee with their personal taste rather than the old online way.In conclusion, the most realistic and effective strategy for Halo to solve their issues and get more market share is to provide more choices of coffee products and provide coffee shops and retailers with special service. What is the company selling?Coffee and coffee beanWhat is the benefit of using it?Coffee with your personal tasteWho is the target customer for this product or service?People who want to have a best cup of coffee with their own favorite tasteREFERENCEStatista. Survival Of The Fittest Philosophy Essay

Survival Of The Fittest Philosophy EssayIn the current essay we impart review the excerption of the fitters, various consequences and theories connected with it. Survival of the Fittest is the aphorism, introduced by Herbert Spencer and Dar gain ground verbalize in extr pull by means of of Species (1859) as the main accompanimentor of the possibility of earthy plectron. This theory states(A) reproduction in any species implies a certain gradation of ingrained variations in terminations(B) all shift that pluss the excerpt ability of well-nigh members of the species with respect to the foeman, deprived of such changes could positively selected for reproduction capabilities(C) the millennia, this wreak lead to the development of complex organisms from simple and to the great diversification of the small itemize of initial organisms. The c at oncept of survival of the fittest in sociology has set forth a a couple of(prenominal) cases of appargonnt consumption, exce pt for Social Darwinism. The chapter on indwelling excerpt overrides Darwin from that closure on is Natural survival of the fittest, or The Survival of the Fittest.Darwin was forced to take this step, since his w yearsr On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection today exposed to allegations of massive port was in 1859, with the term Natural Selection is personified nature, as draw in Charles Darwin Quotes Scientific surmisal. The decisive argument for the grow terminology provided then Darwins supporters Alfred Russel Wallace, who wrote to Darwin, the term Natural Selection, which is actually a nonliteral expression for Herbert Spencers Survival of the Fittest.Natural Selection is therefore inappropriate, as in the growing is non so much a beneficiary excerption, kinda than an elimination of un opt sufficient individuals occur.Darwin agreed with this criticism and took over the term.Fit or fitness describes in Darwins sense of the level of adaptation to the environment (the accommodative specialization), or the reproductive capacity patronage piteous specialization, and non the personal strength and ability in terms of direct competitive shifting with the use of force. That is non the kind of live that defies all repressed and other species, but one which adapts to either the environment or manages to proliferate unendingly in spite of adverse environmental conditions. On the criticality, the ambiguity and the likely for abuse of Spencers terminology even in the original English verbiage -. Darwin and Thomas Henry Huxley associate at an early stage of the banter corroborate indicated.Evolutionary biologists today avoid the term because its current subject of evolution does not adequately describe it.First, it suggests continuity in the evolution toward ever greater fitness.Todays species would then be fitter than extinct, which is not the case.Secondly, it ignores the dominion of sexual selection.Herbert Spencer coined the term Survival of the Fittest in 1864 in his Principles of biology and brought him to the grapple some Darwins book on the origin of speciesIf Individuals of a species necessary in count little directions and tiers differ, mustiness then abide to be always less exposed than some(a) other of the risk among all individuals and that their balance by a special force acting would be completely destroyed. The fateful result forget be that those individuals whose functions differ most(prenominal) from the equilibrium with the limited aggregate outside(a) forces must be destroyed, while the other hand, forget live those who be their functions closest to the equilibrium with the modified sets of external forces near. This survival of the fittest is the resembling as what Mr. Darwin understood as subjective selection. Sometimes, represented in the history of science literature view, Spencer had coined the Survival of the Fittest already in 1851 in his Social Statics or 1852 in hi s Theory of community, which is not correct in this machinate, as stated by Charles Darwin.Spencer took the concept here but not the term for the Survival of the Fittest in a political-sociological sense. The term Survival of the Fittest, he brought lone(prenominal) in 1864 as described above in the Principles of Biology in the debate over Darwins Origin of Species, as described in Charles Darwins The Origin of Species.Generally speaking, fittest in the fittest is the inventor of the Spencer coined as a result of this struggle for the survival of individuals, in Darwins innate(p) selection theory is of course defined for distributively individual the focus on being adaptable. You washbowl directly observe the individual organism for which natural selection acts, whether a signifi baset impact on survival is certainly lucky. The survival of the fittest takes dictate thousands of years is a period of tens of thousands of years, a generational change in mean thousands ar expec ted. Creationists such as the objections to evolution is a survivor of the fittest, the fittest survive, say the claim cycle theory (or a tautology, tautology), and science are not to argue. However, this expression is a metaphor for a brief exposition of the mechanism, the theory does not prove anything.Biologists generally not use this expression, called natural selection. And natural selection is supported by the fact that the observed business line work and experiments. The idea that species flowerpot change under the doing of selection, diverse scholars have repeatedly expressed since ancient times, including some English writers pedigree of the XIX century. However, widespread acceptance of the concept of natural selection was once in 1858 by British scientist Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace presented in his articles published in the same issue of the Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of London.Zoology, the idea that half-bakedlife is a mechanism, similar to artificial selection, and especially after the publication in 1859 of Darwins Origin of Species.Sense of their idea is that the emergence of triumphful creation of nature is not necessarily to understand and analyze the situation and back act at random. It is enough to create a wide variety of animals and, ultimately, the fittest will survive. Currently, some naive views of Darwin himself turned out to be partially redesigned. Thus, Darwin imagined that the change should discover very smoothly, and the range of variation is continuous, as described in Darwins Theory Of Evolution.Today, however, the mechanisms of natural selection are explained by genetics, generates for some originality in this sense.Mutations in the genes that operate at the starting time stage of the process described above, are discrete changes in the genotype.Clearly, however, that the basic meaning of Darwins ideas remained unchanged. There are assorted classifications of readys of selection.Widely is u sed classification that is based on the nature of the strength of forms of selection on the variability of the trait in the population.Driving the selection a form of natural selection, which operates in the directed change of environmental conditions, as described by Darwin and Wallace. In this case, individuals with symptoms that are deflected in a direction from the average, receive benefits. In this case, different variations of feature (its deviation in the contrary direction from the mean) are subjected to negative selection. As a result, in a population from generation to generation, a shift of the average division in a certain direction. The stuff driving the selection must meet the adaptive capabilities of the population and the rate of mutational change (otherwise the pressure of the environment place lead to extinction).Stabilizing selection a form of natural selection, in which his action is directed against individuals with natural deviations from the average, in fa vor of individuals with an average severity of the trait. There are described some(prenominal) examples of stabilising selection in nature. For example, at first glance it sees that the greatest ploughshare to the gene pool of the next generation must make the individuals with the highest fertility. However, observations of natural populations of birds and mammals show that it is not that way.Selection in favor of mean determine was found in a variety of symptoms. In mammals, newborns with very low and very high weight much than likely to die at birth or during the first weeks of life than babies of average weight, as described in Darwins Quotes Not Survival of the Fittest?Disruptive (tearing) selection is a form of natural selection, where conditions are conducive to two or more extreme options (directions) of variation, but not conducive to an intermediate, average trait. As a result, you whitethorn receive several new forms from a single source.Darwin described the action of di sruptive selection, considering that it lies at the heart of the divergence, though he could not distribute evidence of its instauration in nature.Disruptive selection contributes to the emergence and attention of polymorphism in populations, and in some cases open fire cause speciation. matchless of the possible situations in nature, which comes into effect disruptive selection is when the polymorphic population is heterogeneous habitat. The different forms are adapted to different ecological niches or subnishes.Survival of organisms is important, but not the only component of natural selection exists. Another important component is attractive to individuals of the opposite sex.Darwin called this phenomenon of sexual selectionThis form of selection is determined not by the struggle for existence in the relations of organic beings to each other or with external conditions, but the rivalry between individuals of one sex, usually males, for the possession of individuals of the opp osite sex.Sexual selection is a natural selection for success in breeding.Features that reduce the viability of their carriers, may occur and spread, if the benefits that they provide a breeding success is much higher than their weaknesses to survive. It was suggested that there are two main hypotheses close the mechanisms of sexual selection.According to the hypothesis of good genes and female reasons as follows If the male, despite its ingenious plumage and long tail, somehow managed not to die at the hands of predators and survive to sexual maturity, then, consequently, he has goodgenes, which allowed him to do it. Hence, he should be chosen as a father to his children he will give them his good genes.Choosing bright males, females choose good genes for their offspring, as described by Michael Heeney.According to the hypothesis of attractive sons, the logic of the choice of females is somewhat different. If males are bright, for whatever reasons, they are attractive to females, y ou should choose a bright future for your sons, because sons will inherit the genes of bright colors and will be attractive to females in the next generation. Thus, a positive founderback loop that leads to the fact that generation after generation of bright plumage of males is increasingly growing. The process goes on increasing until it reaches the limit of viability. In the choice of mating females is no more and no less logical than the rest of their behavior. When the animal feels thirsty, it is not a reason for him to drunkenness water in order to remediate fluid and electrolyte balance in the body he is going to drink because he feels thirsty.Likewise, the females choose bright males, they follow their instincts they like the bright tails. solely those who instinct other behavior, all they have left no progeny. Thus, we have not discussed the logic of the females, and the logic of the struggle for existence and natural selection is a blind and automatic process, which, actin g continuously from generation to generation, and form all the amazing variety of shapes, colors and instincts, which we observe in the cosmea of wildlife.Positive selection a form of natural selection. Its effect is the opposite of truncation selection.Positive selection adds the number of individuals in the population, with useful features that growing the viability of the species as a whole.Truncation selection is a form of natural selection. Its effect is the opposite of positive selection.Truncation selection is discarded from the population, the long majority of individuals carrying signs, dramatically reduce the viability under these environmental conditions.Survival of the fittest is in terms of species and populations, such as species having gills in the water, because fit arse win the fight for survival. There are survival bodied organisms, survival of the physically strongest of organisms as physical struggle for resources is an integral part of life.Survival of the m ost sexually victorious organisms happens because sexual reproduction is the dominant mode of reproduction. In this case, it takes sexual selection. However, all these cases are private, but mostly remains successful preservation time.So sometimes these areas are violated for the sake of succeeding(a) the main goal, as stated in Survival of the fittest.Charles Darwin believed that natural selection is a fundamental factor in the evolution of life.Accumulation in the late XIX early XX century, information on genetics, in particular the discovery of the discrete nature of the heritage of phenotypic traits, prompted many an(prenominal) re pursuiters to revise the thesis of Darwin as critical factors of evolution were considered mutation genotype. On the other hand, the discovery of the known correlations among the traits of related species led to the formulation of hypotheses about the evolution on the groundwork of equitys and not random variability.Discussion of the routine of va rious factors in the evolution continues today, and evolutionary biology came to the need for his next, the 3rd synthesis. As a dact, Darwin long hesitated to publish his theory, as seen the problem of ants, which can be explained only in terms of genetics, as stated in Survival of the fittest.Survival of the fittest is the main driving force of evolution of victuals organisms.Thinking about the existence of natural selection came independently and around simultaneously to several English naturalists V. Wells (1813), P. Mathews (1831), E. Blythe (1835, 1837), A. Wallace (1858), Darwin (1858, 1859), but only Darwin was able to discover the significance of this phenomenon as the main factor of evolution and created the theory of natural selection.Unlike human- artificial selection, natural selection is due to cause on organisms of the environment. According to Darwin, natural selection is the experience of the fittest organisms, which resulted on the basis of uncertain genetic var iation in the number of generations takes evolution. In general, we can say that natural selection is daily and hourly throughout the creation investigating minute changes, rejecting the bad, preserving and pondered them good, working silently and invisibly, wherever and whenever they are neither presented in this case, on the improvement of each organic beingin connection with the conditions of his life, organic and inorganic.Man does not see these slowly make changes in their stricklement forward and time to just ignore miscellany of contemporary forms of life once existed.Although natural selection can only operate for the benefit of the organism and the only effect of this benefit, however the signs and constructions, which seem to be sort of insignificant, may enter into the terms of the selection process. When the insects that feed on leaves, green, and eating the bark spotty gray, alpine ptarmigan white in winter, and the red grouse is painted the color of heather, we mu st assume that these stains are beneficial to these birds and insects, protecting them from danger. Considering these differences between species that seem insignificant, one must not forget that they are directly influenced by climate, food, etc. Also, the force of law correlations should be noted that when one part varies and changes accumulate by natural selection, there are other changes, often the most unexpected properties, as described in Survival of the fittest. If the changes that occur under domestication, in a certain period of life, tend to occur in the offspring in the same period even in the natural state, natural selection will act on the organisms and turn them at any age through well-to-do changes in this age group and by their inheritance in the correspondingsame age.Natural selection may modify and adapt the larva of an insect to numerous conditions, quite different from those in which the enceinte insect lives, and these changes in the force of law correlations may impact on the adult form.Similarly, and vice versa changes in adult insects may affect the structure of the larvae, but in any case, natural selection will control their safety, because otherwise having them exposed to the extinction of species.Natural selection changes the structure of comparatively young parents and parents that are relatively young. In social animals, it adapts the structure of each individual to the needs of the community, if only to make the community benefit from this change in the selection of exposed individuals. In order to clarify the action of natural selection, it is sufficient to provide one or two ideational examples.Let us consider the example of the wolf, feeding on different animals and one beset by force, and other tricks, the third-speed, imagine that the fastest prey, deer, for example, have increased in number by which any changes that have occurred in the area, or whether other production devolvedin particular, just at the time of year w hen wolves suffer the most from lack of food.In such circumstances, the fastest and lean wolves will have a best get to survive and, thus, remain or be selected. You can give another more complicated example, illustrating the mode of action of natural selection.Insects in search of nectar and pollen will crumble very often will move her from flower to flower. So by going to botch up between the flowers, be to two different individuals, and this process will give rise to cross over the mighty seedlings, consequently will have the best fortune for prosperity and survival.Plants that produce flowers with the nectaries, select the largest amount of nectar, insects will visit more often and more frequently subjected to cross-breeding and, eventually, will overcome their rivals, and form a local variety. One can imagine another case insects see the flowers to collect nectar is not, and pollen, and as pollen is used exclusively for fertilization, then its dying should be, it would see m to bring only damage to the plant, however, if a little pollen, first accidentally and then permanently tolerated eating insects pollen from flower to flower, and this would be achieved by cross-breeding, at least nine-tenths of the pollen being destroyed, this kind of robbery would be quite beneficial to plants, and individuals that produce more and more pollenand fitted with larger anthers, would be subjected to selection. Thus, the examples can be seen in the fact that natural selection operates only through the preservation and accumulation of small inherited modifications, each of which is advantageous for salve the creatures.Much of the variability, of course, and individual differences are likely to be a favorable circumstance.A large number of individuals are increasing the chances of a disposed period of useful changes, can compensate for a lesser degree of variation in individual animal and it is an important element of success. crisscross plays an important role in nat ure, as it supports uniformity and consistency traits in individuals of the same species or same species. Length of time in itself does not promote or impede natural selection. The length of time is important, as it increases the chances of favorable changes in their selection, accumulation and retention.Extinction is caused by natural selection. This issue should be mentioned because of its close connection with natural selection.Natural selection acts only through the changes, in some sense useful, and therefore root.Because of the rapid increase in the number of all organic beings exponentially, each area is already filled to the limit of the inhabitants, and from this it follows that, as the favored form will increase in number, the less favorable treatment will usually decrease in numbers and hold out rare. The rarity of forms is a forerunner of extinction.Any form submitted by a small number of individuals has a better chance at the final extinction, due to a significant clima tical fluctuations during the year or due to a temporary increase in the number of its enemies.Species, most wealthy individuals, have the greatest chance for the appearance at any given period of favorable changes.Hence, rare species at any given time will change and evolve more slowly and therefore will be defeated in the involution of life change and improve the descendants of the more common species. From this it follows that, since over time the activities of natural selection, the formation of new species, while others have become increasingly rare, finally disappear.Sometimes it is difficult to explain the packs behavior, as raft hurt one another, which, for example, you will never see among animals. You dont see wild animals killing animals of the same species, yet people do it all the time. ofttimes people behave in a strange way, and the laws of animal dry land do not apply. Also, prisoners and people on life support can be compared, as the examples of the consequences of the survival of the fittest. Nature has its laws and sometimes people can not control them. True that people have discovered many types of medicine that help people to survive and often save lives. The survival of the fittest can now be controlled in some way.Nature has its circle and whatever people do does not change a messiness in the world, as nature is more powerful than we figure. Some people survive, some people die, but the tendency is that the number of people is forever and a day growing. However, some people believe that the laws of nature determine everything. It can be said that the Earth is a living organism and people can not interfere in its life. Some people and philosophers even think that people do not have to cure each other, as there is the survival of the fittest that determines everything.

Although a few things individuals are not responsible for do exist, such as ethnicity and hereditary characteristics, most of the things good or awful that happen to us are a result of choices we have made. Molieres the Imaginary Invalid :: essays research papers fc

Molieres "The unreal Invalid"     Molieres "The Imaginary Invalid" is a farcical play about a hypochondriacal who is so obsessed with his health and money that he ends upneglecting his family. The point involves several antithetic newspaper publishers and plotswithin one family. A new rendering of this 17th century play is now beingperformed at the arts Club Theater it incorporates some new changes andmodernizations in addition to the conventional improvisation. Morris Panych hasin spades succeeded in delivering a new, more comical version of Molieres utmost play.     Moreover, the dominant theme of this play is body versus mind. The playis about a wealthy, but stingy man who believes that he is constantly sick(Argan). However, thither is an obvious doubt to whether he is really sick or ifhe is just imagining his ill fortuneness. Therefore, the primary theme is Argansinternal struggle of body vs. mind. This theme is dev eloped throughout the playinto smaller themes such as staminateness versus femininity, greed versus love, and death versus life.     Two of the major changes from the text to the play be Argans degree ofillness and his death. In the text, there are very hardly a(prenominal) elaborate descriptions ofDr. Purgons treatment. However in the play by Panych, there is no shortage ofenemas and separate "bathroom" related scenes. I originally position this change wasfor comical purposes, but after some additional perspective I questioned whetherArgan was imagining his illness or if he really was ill. In the text, by nothaving too many bathroom scenes, Argan seems to be imagining his illness (thus,he is the imaginary invalid). In Panychs stage version, Argan shows severalsymptoms of being ill this definitely confuses the original play by Moliere. One of the original purposes of the play was to criticize, among other things, the medical profession in Molieres time . Now, if Argan really was sick, doesthat mean that the doctors were correct in their analysis? No, it doesnt. Ibelieve that Panych intended to show that it was the doctors treatments thatmade Argan ill and eventually killed him.     Another major change from Molieres version is Beraldes gender and consumptionin the play and in the family. Beralde is transformed into Argans sister, instead of his brother. Panych saw male versus female as a major theme. If youlook at the social structure of the original play, all the people who truly love Arganand mean him wholesome are female, except for Beralde. In fact out of all thedifferent characters who take advantage of Argan, only one of them is female-
